“I endorse Judge Gloria Ochoa-Bruck for her re-election as a Spokane Municipal Court Judge. I have known Judge Ochoa-Bruck for over a decade, both as colleagues in the legal community and as volunteers for various organizations. We recently served together on the Board of Trustees of the Spokane County Bar Association (SCBA) and the Volunteer Lawyers Program (VLP). In her capacity as a Trustee for the SCBA and the VLP, Judge Ochoa-Bruck worked on initiatives to diversify the boards of both organizations to be more inclusive. She was also passionate about access to justice issues and supported efforts to increase representation and access to justice for the most vulnerable people in our community. Judge Ochoa-Bruck is also highly respected among her peers in the legal community. Prior to joining the Municipal Court bench, she was in private practice for many years, then she served as a tribal court judge, and she also served in a cabinet position in a previous City administration. Her tireless pursuit of justice has been unwavering in each of her various positions. She never backs down from a challenge, and she is always ready and willing to roll up her sleeves and get to work. At the Spokane Municipal Court, she strikes a balance between compassion and accountability. Her experience and perspective make her uniquely qualified to serve in this role, and our community is truly fortunate that she has decided to run for re-election.”
– April L. Anderson, Attorney

“I have practiced in front of many, many judges–and Chief Judge Gloria Ochoa was among the very best. Fair minded. Just. Tough. Caring. Committed. And unusually intuitive. Crime rates dropped during her tenure, more lives were rehabilitated, and the justice system reached new heights of efficiency and objectivity. Needless to say, the Spokane Tribe was fortunate to have Judge Ochoa for as long as it did.”
–Weston Meyring – Former Tribal Prosecutor
“I hired Judge Ochoa-Bruck as a deputy prosecutor after she graduated from law school. I saw her legal skills, work ethic, and professionalism first-hand. She was named the Washington State Prosecutor of the Year by Mothers Against Drunk Drivers based on the recommendation by the Washington State Patrol. Judge Ochoa-Bruck then went into private practice which included criminal defense. She continued her professionalism, work ethic and trial skills. I knew she would be an outstanding Judge and her record in her first term has proved that.”
– Andy Miller – Former Benton County Prosecutor

“I am pleased to lend my support to Judge Gloria Ochoa-Bruck. I have had numerous opportunities to collaborate with her on various workgroups, allowing me to observe her demeanor, character, personality, and style. Throughout our work together, I have found her words to reflect both legal wisdom and an understanding of real-life experiences. She seemed fully aware of how decisions impact all aspects of an individual’s life.
These workgroups were formed to identify, address, and resolve various issues. They included professionals, service providers, and community members who were directly affected by the decisions at hand. This community-based approach facilitates the development of culturally responsive solutions. It empowers communities to mobilize, confront the challenges they face, and work collaboratively to find real-life, practical solutions.
Judge Gloria is a strong proponent of building resilient communities. She advocates for a community-based approach, recognizing that service providers alone cannot address all the solutions. Instead, she values community members as essential stakeholders, resources, and partners. She seeks their guidance in developing written protocols and policies that enhance services, funding, and training. Judge Gloria truly believes in the importance of fostering a resilient community.”

“It is with the utmost conviction and reverence that I endorse the reelection of Judge Gloria Ochoa-Bruck to Spokane Municipal Court, Position 3. Since first ascending to the bench in 2021, Judge Ochoa-Bruck has distinguished herself as a jurist of uncommon intellect, unwavering integrity, and profound moral clarity.
As a woman of color, she brings to the bench a lived perspective that is both rare and indispensable—an understanding forged by experience, sharpened by education, and elevated by her unrelenting pursuit of justice. Her jurisprudence embodies a refined equilibrium: restorative justice balanced with rehabilitative opportunity, compassionate accountability tempered by an abiding commitment to public safety. This philosophy ensures not only fairness under the law but also the advancement of Spokane as a community rooted in dignity and equity.
Judge Ochoa-Bruck possesses the extraordinary ability to see beyond the superficial distinctions that too often divide us—gender, sexuality, socio-economic status, race, religion, or political identity. In every person, she recognizes the essential humanity that binds us all, administering justice with empathy, impartiality, and respect.
Her bilingual fluency and cultural competence allow her to connect deeply across Spokane’s diverse communities, ensuring that no voice is silenced and no individual overlooked. In her courtroom, justice is not an abstraction but a lived reality—approachable, comprehensible, and humane.

“Please join us in voting to re-elect Judge Gloria Ochoa-Bruck for Spokane’s Municipal Court. She is intelligent, thoughtful, intentional, and wise. Judge Ochoa-Bruck advocates for better outcomes and a safe community. She is our choice for Municipal Court Judge, Position 3.”
– Cyndi & Jack Donahue
I would like to share the experience I had when I met Judge Ochoa -Bruck. She was speaking at a club I belong to, telling us her story of becoming an attorney and then running for a judgeship.
Her story was compelling because she didn’t come from wealth or status. As a Hispanic woman her story touched me deeply.
Everything that she has achieved in her life has been gained through intelligence, hard work and perseverance. I respect her journey tremendously and it gives her a rare perspective which explains the firmness, bolstered with empathy and compassion that she dispenses on a daily basis.
As as I listened to her speech, her compassion and desire to help people reclaim their lives from drugs and lawlessness struck me deeply. You see, I was dealing with a situation with a family member who had gotten in trouble with the law, but who had turned her life around and was simply wanting a chance to reclaim her life. I said to myself “I wish this would be the judge we would get”.
When we went to court later that week, I could not believe that we were sitting in Judge Ochoa-Bruck’s courtroom. I knew that she would hold her accountable, and she did.
But along with accountability, the judge treated not only my niece, but everyone in her court, with fairness, compassion & respect. And when she sincerely wished the defendants SUCCESS in turning their lives around, I knew that I had experienced something rare.
My personal experience dictates to me that Judge Ochoa-Bruck is EXACTLY the professional we want on the bench .
– Susan C. Silva & Edward W. Wood Jr.

“If you believe in fairness, accountability, and real justice—not just lip service—Judge Gloria Ochoa-Bruck deserves your vote.
When she first ran, she wasn’t part of Spokane’s insider circle; she was outside the “good old boys” club and that made some people uncomfortable. But for voters like me, it was a breath of fresh air. She promised “Justice for All”—and she meant it.. She has brought a fresh approach in criminal justice that balances empathy with accountability.
Her insistence on accountability didn’t sit well with some defense attorneys and they filed motions to remove her from cases. I went down to Judge Ochoa-Bruck’s courtroom to see for myself.
As someone who’s spent years advocating for families affected by domestic violence, I saw firsthand how her courtroom changed things. If you’ve ever seen a battered spouse or child plead for their abuser to come home—because they’re scared, manipulated, or worn down—you know how high the stakes are. I sat in Judge Ochoa-Bruck’s courtroom and heard her ask the right questions before lifting protection orders—holding offenders accountable and protecting victims when others wouldn’t.
What I witnessed was a judge who asked the right questions before lifting a protection order:
• “What has changed since the order was entered?”
• “Is the defendant in counseling or treatment?”
• “Are they employed?”
• “Are they attending support groups?”These aren’t just good questions—they’re the legal standard in Washington. Judge Ochoa Bruck brings empathy to the bench, but she never lets it override the need for accountability. That’s what justice looks like. Her strength, fairness, and compassion have made Spokane’s courts safer and more just for everyone.
If you want a judge who leads with compassionate accountability—protecting victims, upholding justice, and refusing to play politics—vote to re-elect Judge Gloria Ochoa-Bruck to Spokane’s Municipal Court.”
